‘Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.’ Philippians 4:6-7(NLT)
‘Never stop praying. ‘ 1 Thessalonians 5:17(NLT)
If we were honest, we would probably confess there have been times in our lives where we have not wanted to or been able to pray. Our grief, emotion, anxiety, or fear was so overwhelming that we simply did not have the strength or the words to go to God in prayer.
In these times, God gives us help. He gives us the Holy Spirit to intercede for us on our behalf (Rm 8:26). God wants to hear both our praises and our complaints (Ps 55:16-17). His desire is to know our heart. The result of going to God in prayer is His presence and His peace. We should not be afraid that we are not ready to go to God. He is always ready to receive us.
What prevents you from approaching God with your concerns? Your Heavenly Father wants you to come to Him with everything. He longs to hear your heart. What do you need to take to the foot of the cross today?
Father God, thank You for giving me access to You through Your Son, Jesus. Thank You that I can come to You weary and broken. Help me pour my heart out to You today, Lord. If I do not have the words, give me Your Spirit to find my voice. Thank You for loving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
