‘For I hold you by your right hand— I, the Lord your God. And I say to you, ‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you. Though you are a lowly worm, O Jacob, don’t be afraid, people of Israel, for I will help you. I am the Lord , your Redeemer. I am the Holy One of Israel.’’ Isaiah 41:13-14(NLT)
‘But now, O Jacob, listen to the Lord who created you. O Israel, the one who formed you says, “Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.’ Isaiah 43:1-2(NLT)
Sometimes, life leads us to deep waters through which we must wade. God promises to be with us through the waters. We do not have to feel like we are drowning in despair because our Heavenly Father is holding us. He has our hand.
Through Christ, God has set us free from death, guilt, and fear. We have life, hope, and joy because of Jesus. Therefore, we can live and breathe no matter what circumstances may come. Jesus has paid the ultimate price. We belong to God. Because of His sacrifice, we can rest in His presence no matter what comes in our lives.
How does knowing you belong to God help you overcome times of fear? God will walk with you through the trials and chaos. He will guide the way. We must hold on to our Redeemer.
Father God, thank You for sending Your Son to pay the price for my sins. Thank You for calling me into a relationship with You. Help me to see how You are at work in the chaos. Show me Your truth through Your Word. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
