‘The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.’ Psalms 23:1-6(NLT)
What you feed your mind with becomes a mindset.
A mindset is impossible to change without changing what your mind is filled with. Typically, when we hear the truth about breaking strongholds or renewing of the mind, we get busy trying to change our mindsets. We quickly learn that it is not an easy task.
A mindset is what controls you. The mind is what you control. The only way to change your default and automatic thinking is by filling your conscious mind with new information of God’s truth. Once the conscious mind is filled to the overflow, it slips into the subconscious mind.
Ninety-five percent of our behaviors are automatic, that is why we set goals, but do not reach them. Setting goals is the function of the conscious mind, but reaching them is the task of the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind occupies most of your brain. It does not work by logic, therefore, it believes anything that it is told repeatedly by the conscious mind.
It is important that we feed our minds with information from the Word of God. Holy Spirit turns that information, which we fed our mind with, into revelation, and this soon becomes our new mindset. Every time you give an opportunity for Holy Spirit to bring revelation out of the information of God’s Word, you can be sure that He will turn the revelation of that Word into manifestation of that Word. And then His Word will produce visible results in your life.
Before there can be manifestation in your circumstances, you must allow the Spirit of God to bring revelation into your spirit.
Lastly, before there can be revelation by the Spirit, you must fill your mind with information from God’s Word as much as possible. Read, memorize, and meditate on the Bible, listen to podcasts, and read Christian books. Fill your mind with the truth, and Holy Spirit will make it come alive which will change your mindset and transform your life.
