‘Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.’ Philippians 4:6-7(NLT)
‘I prayed to the Lord , and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears.’ Psalms 34:4(NLT)
Coronavirus, COVID-19, pandemic, social distancing, self-quarantine, testing, market crash, job and income loss, death…these are all words that describe the current status quo. Coronavirus has the entire world on high alert, and many people are in a state of fear.
People are stockpiling necessities for daily living, hoarding toilet paper, and searching high and low for the elusive hand sanitizer. Images of empty store shelves are going viral. Businesses are shutting down. News reports about the deadly virus are running 24/7. That’s enough to make anyone anxious and fearful.
So, where can you turn for calmness and hope as you come to grips with the new normal? Turn to Scripture! God tells us not to be anxious about anything. Bring your worries to Him in prayer, and His peace, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Jesus knows what you’re going through, and He’s always with you. This “new normal” will end. What will never end is God’s love and protection for you.
