Hopefully by now you realize you can be free of fear. God did not give you a spirit of fear. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7). So why not get rid of fear today!
First of all, as a believer, you have authority over spirits. The following passage is straight from the words of Jesus: “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven” (Luke 10:19-20). So, you are going to exercise that authority now!
Insert your name in the verses below and read them with authority!
“I, _____________, am fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14 NIV).
______________ is “no longer a slave but a son (daughter), and if a son (daughter), then an heir of God through Christ” (Gal. 4:7).
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Phil. 4:13).
“Because the One who is in ___________ is greater than the one who is in the world” (1 John 4:4 NIV).
“For God has not given ____________ a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and a sound mind” (2 Tim. 1:7).
LORD, “I will fear no evil, for You are with me!” (Psalm 23:4)
Now, repeat the following prayer:
Lord, I acknowledge fear is a sin. I confess to giving the enemy access to me through the spirit of fear. Today, I repent of that sin and ask You to forgive me. I loose, shatter, destroy, and rescind any words or agreements I have ever spoken over myself regarding fear. I break it off me right now! In the mighty name of Jesus, spirit of fear you must leave now! I command you in the name of Jesus to leave at once! You no longer have any authority. I have overcome you “by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of (my) testimony!” (Rev. 12:11 NIV)
Lord, I pray You will fill that hole where fear once resided in me with Your Spirit; with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. I pray you will redeem the years fear has stolen from me. Help me to now fulfill the destiny you created me for. Jesus, You said, “if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36 NIV). I thank you Lord for my freedom, breaking the chains of bondage fear once had on me. In Jesus name I pray this, Amen (let it be so).
