You Need Others

‘Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.’ Hebrews 10:24-25 (NLT)

Avoid indulging in unnecessary solitude and, as much as possible, keep honest, cheerful company. You need others and are not sufficient unto yourselves. God will use and honor others as extensions of his hands to deliver his blessings.

Solitude is for those who are fit for it and provides an excellent time for meditation and conversation with God and with our own hearts. But for you, it is also a time of temptation and danger. If Satan tempted Christ himself when he was fasting and alone in a wilderness, how much more will he take this as his opportunity against you?

Solitude invites pondering and reflection, which are the things you must escape if you would not lose everything. You are built for community amongst believers; it is great to be amongst those who are like-minded. It does your heart good to be in such company.

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching” -Hebrews 10:24-25

  1. Do you find yourself spending a lot of time alone and it oftentimes leads to feeling disappointed in yourself? How can you change this?
  2. How can you find a community of like-minded believers?
  3. If you find yourself being way too busy, how will you find some solitude in Him?
