‘Have mercy on me, Lord , for I am in distress. Tears blur my eyes. My body and soul are withering away. I am dying from grief; my years are shortened by sadness. Sin has drained my strength; I am wasting away from within.’ Psalms 31:9-10 (NLT)
God is the one who is able to deliver us from our suffering, yet we so often fail to call upon him and ask him to relieve us. When we feel very low and defeated, it can be hard to remember that God is our deliverer. The hope of Jesus does not always mean that our trials will be taken away, but we have firm assurance that God will walk with us through our sufferings. We only need to call on him.
Do you believe that God is able to show you mercy in your time of need?
Prayer: When I am weak, Lord, show me your mercy. Amen.
