‘He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.’ Isaiah 40:29-31(NLT)
‘And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.’ Philippians 4:19(NLT)
‘And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. By his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God’s house, let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water. Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. ‘ Hebrews 10:19-23(NLT)
Since creation, God has been faithful in keeping His promises to humanity. When we feel overwhelmed it can be easy to forget about God’s faithfulness. Throughout Scripture, the Lord commanded His people to remember His Word and His works. Our loving Father realizes that in our weakness, we forget. He gently reminds us of His promises.
God will supply us with our every need in Christ. Through Jesus, we have confidence to approach our Heavenly Father in even our most vulnerable state. We do not have to fear a consequence of rejection or refusal to be heard. We can find rest in the strength of our Lord.
This is good news! Since we are forgetful, we need to remind ourselves of these promises regularly. Memorizing Scripture helps us remember God’s promises and His faithfulness. Then, we can recall them when we need reassurance the most. Try to spend time each day reflecting on a promise your Heavenly Father has given you. He loves you and wants you to know that He is for you.
Father God, thank You for loving me. Thank You for giving me assurance through a covenant relationship with You in Christ. Help me to remember the promises You have for me each day and allow me to walk in confidence because of Your promises. I praise You for Your faithfulness. Amen.
