‘Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord : He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him. For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday. When we face seasons of fear and anxiety, it can feel as if we have been ambushed from every side. We sense the world is out to get us. The threat can overwhelm our thoughts and emotions. In these times, God’s Word provides clarity.
God is a deliverer. He provides redemption and forgiveness. The Lord does not sit by and watch us experience grief. Instead, He actively intervenes on our behalf. Scripture declares that the Lord delivers, protects, and guards us against our opposition. He shelters us from our fear. He answers when we call out for help and He rescues us in our distress.
Rest in His love. Dwell in the safety of His goodness. We can look to Him to meet our needs when we are overwhelmed with fear. Our rest comes when we trust in who God is and hold fast to the knowledge of how He has worked in our past.
Father God, thank You for Your unconditional love. Thank You that I can come to You when I feel tired and scared. Help me rest knowing You will be with me no matter what I go through. I praise You for Your lovingkindness. Thank You for the ultimate deliverance You gave me through Jesus. In Jesus’ name, amen.
