Out of the Valley

‘Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.’ Psalms 23:4(NLT)

I am removed from those on the mountain. I look up and wave or nod to them along their journey. But I am here in the valley, Lord. This is where lush life grows, but for me it is a time of sorrow and uncertainty. I can only glance at those on higher plains once in a while, because my time here is so burdensome. Each step I take is my only focus.

But then up ahead I see You standing with Your rod and staff. You are waiting patiently and pointing out the secure places to step. I am almost there. Now we walk together, and You point out a mountain in the future that will be mine. Your promise to lead me out of the valley, Lord, is my only focus.
